Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.
Anti-AKT3 antibody is directed against human AKT3 and detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms. Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined, but the immunogen sequence shows 100% identity to human, mouse, and rat, suggesting expected cross-reactivity. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 and AKT has not been determined.
Target Information
AKT3 (PKB gamma) is stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). It is involved in diverse biological processes including:
- Cell proliferation and differentiation
- Apoptosis and tumorigenesis
- Glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake
Alternative splice variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
