PA1-216 detects thyroid hormone receptor alpha 2 (THRA2) from human and mouse samples.
It has been validated for use in Western blot, ICC/IF, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin) applications.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~58 kDa band representing Tra2 in mouse tissue and a ~43 kDa non-specific band.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 455–469 from rat thyroid hormone receptor alpha 2.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine (T3).
It is one of several receptors mediating the biological activities of thyroid hormone.
Knockout studies in mice suggest functional diversity among receptor isoforms, despite partial redundancy.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
