Target Information
Axin-related protein AXIN2는 Wnt 신호전달 경로에서 β-catenin 안정성 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질입니다. 마우스 conductin/rat axil과 유사하게, conductin은 APC, β-catenin, glycogen synthase kinase 3-beta와 복합체를 형성하여 β-catenin의 분해를 유도합니다. β-catenin의 조절 이상은 여러 악성종양의 발생에 중요한 요인으로 알려져 있습니다.
AXIN2 유전자는 염색체 17q23–q24에 위치하며, 이 부위는 유방암, 신경모세포종 등에서 이형접합성 소실이 자주 관찰됩니다. 또한, 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 불일치 복구 결함을 가진 대장암과 관련이 있습니다.
