PA1-957 detects death receptor 5 (DR5) from human and rat tissues and cells.
PA1-957 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~58 kDa protein representing DR5 from HEK293 cell lysate.
PA1-957 immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 255–270 of rat DR5.
PA1-957 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-048) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL, mediating TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and transduces apoptosis signals via TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L.
FADD adaptor protein is required for DR5-mediated apoptosis.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms and one non-coding transcript have been identified.
Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-κB.
DR5 is expressed in various cell types, especially lymphocytes and spleen.
Diseases associated with DR5 dysfunction include squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
