Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal region of recombinant proteins to enable purification by immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
The strong and selective affinity of histidine clusters to Ni²⁺ allows efficient purification using Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents.
