Product Specific Information

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45804 was sufficient for detection of Malondialdehyde in 2 µg of Malondialdehyde conjugated to BSA by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Specific for Malondialdehyde-conjugated proteins. Does not detect free Malondialdehyde. Does not cross-react with Acrolein, Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal, 4-Hydroxy nonenal, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.

Target Information

Malondialdehyde (CH₂(CHO)₂) is an organic compound and a byproduct of lipid metabolism. It is a highly reactive electrophile species that contributes to toxic stress in cells by forming covalent protein adducts (advanced lipoxidation end products, ALE). It can also form mutagenic DNA adducts with deoxyadenosine and deoxyguanosine. Malondialdehyde is present in many foods and found in high levels in rancid products.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
