Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45805 was sufficient for detection of Malondialdehyde in 2 µg of Malondialdehyde conjugated to BSA by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Specific for Malondialdehyde conjugated proteins. Does not detect free Malondialdehyde.
No cross-reactivity with Acrolein, Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal, 4-Hydroxy nonenal, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.
Target Information
Malondialdehyde (CH₂(CHO)₂) is a byproduct of lipid metabolism and a reactive electrophile species that induces cellular toxic stress. It forms covalent protein adducts known as advanced lipoxidation end products (ALE) and mutagenic DNA adducts with deoxyadenosine and deoxyguanosine.
Malondialdehyde is also found in various foods, with elevated levels in rancid items.
