Target Information
Caspase 14는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적 역할을 하는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspases는 비활성 전구체(proenzyme) 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 aspartic 잔기에서 절단되어 활성 효소를 형성합니다. Caspase 8 및 Caspase 10에 의해 in vitro에서 활성화되며, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas 항체 또는 TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand에 의해 활성화될 수 있습니다. Caspase 14의 발현과 처리 과정은 각질세포의 최종 분화와 피부 장벽 형성에 관여합니다. CASP14 관련 질환으로는 Ichthyosis, Congenital, Autosomal Recessive 12 및 Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis가 보고되어 있습니다.
