Target Information
Caspase 14는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열의 단백질로, 세포 자멸사(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. Caspase들은 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 aspartic 잔기 부위에서 절단되어 활성형 효소로 전환됩니다. Caspase 14는 in vitro에서 caspase 8 및 caspase 10에 의해, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas 항체나 TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand에 의해 활성화되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한, 이 단백질은 각질세포의 최종 분화에 관여하며, 피부 장벽 형성에 중요한 역할을 합니다. CASP14 관련 질환으로는 Ichthyosis, Congenital, Autosomal Recessive 12 및 Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis가 보고되어 있습니다.
