Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complex assembly at specialized plasma membrane regions. It is also part of the CARD protein family, characterized by a caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). This protein shares structural similarity with CARD14 and interacts specifically with BCL10, a regulator of apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation. Expression of this protein in cells activates NF-kappaB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
