Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the larger rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

Lysosomal enzymes containing one or two mannose 6-phosphate (man6P) moieties are transported within the cell through two interconnected cycles involving the cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptor (CI-MPR, ~300 kDa).
The biosynthetic cycle delivers newly synthesized lysosomal enzymes from the trans-Golgi network to late endosomes or lysosomes, while the endocytic cycle moves extracellular lysosomal enzymes from the plasma membrane to early endosomes.
MPRs cycle between these compartments approximately every 3 hours, with the majority residing in late endosomes, fewer in the trans-Golgi network, and about 10% at the cell surface.
CI-MPR also binds IGF-II via a separate binding site, enabling simultaneous binding of man6P and IGF-II. A soluble truncated form (~240 kDa) of the receptor circulates in serum and retains ligand-binding capability.
