• In sandwich ELISAs, this antibody shows less than 4% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat IL-1 beta and less than 0.1% with recombinant porcine IL-1 beta, rhIL-1 alpha, rpIL-1 alpha, rrIL-1 alpha, rmIL-1 alpha, and rmIL-1 beta.
• Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
• Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody by the LAL method.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into an active 17 kDa form upon inflammasome activation.
IL-1 beta lacks a signal peptide and is secreted via a non-classical pathway alongside caspase-1. It signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1 alpha, and its activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA).
Elevated IL-1 beta levels are associated with chronic inflammatory conditions, and neutralizing antibodies may have potential therapeutic value.
