Target Information

TLK1 (Tousled-like kinase 1) is a nuclear serine/threonine kinase involved in the regulation of chromatin assembly.
It is a novel target of the DNA damage checkpoint and is rapidly inactivated upon exposure to ionizing radiation (IR).
This inactivation is mediated by the S-phase DNA damage checkpoint and requires ATM, NBS, and CHK1.
TLK1 was first described in Arabidopsis and is associated with chromatin assembly regulation.
