Product Specific Information

Description:
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit (FcεRIα), an IgE-binding subunit lacking signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is up-regulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits containing ITAM motifs, playing a key role in IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of MC/9 mouse mast cell line. Recommended ≤0.06 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimize antibody concentration empirically for best performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with the blue laser (488 nm). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark. Clone-specific performance should be verified empirically.

Excitation / Emission / Laser:
488 nm / 710 nm / Blue Laser

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.


Target Information

FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex (α, β, and two γ subunits), with β and γ responsible for signal transduction. This receptor mediates allergic responses by triggering histamine release upon allergen-bound IgE crosslinking. It plays a central role in allergic disorders such as hay fever and asthma through activation of mast cells and basophils.
