Assay Information:
Immunoelectrophoresis showed a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glutathione-S-Transferase (Schistosoma japonicum). Cross-reactivity with GST from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, catalyzing various reactions. It is commonly used in the GST gene fusion system to facilitate purification of fusion proteins via glutathione affinity. GST-fusion proteins are valuable tools for studying direct protein–protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been incorporated into numerous expression vectors.
