Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal-origin free formulations
- Broad immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Collagen I is a Type I collagen forming a triple helix structure composed of two alpha-1 chains and one alpha-2 chain. It is a fibril-forming collagen found in most connective tissues, including bone, cornea, dermis, and tendon.
Mutations in the COL1A2 gene (encoding the alpha-2 chain) are linked to:
- Osteogenesis imperfecta types I–IV
- Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIIB and Classical type
- Idiopathic osteoporosis
- Atypical Marfan syndrome
Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 17 and 22, involving Collagen Type I genes and the platelet-derived growth factor beta gene, are associated with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, leading to unregulated growth factor expression. Two transcripts have been identified from alternate polyadenylation signals.
For Research Use Only.
Not for use in diagnostic procedures or resale without express authorization.
