Target Information
Estrogen Receptors (ER)은 스테로이드/갑상선 호르몬 수용체 초과가족에 속하는 핵 수용체로, 에스트로겐 결합 시 전사활성화 인자로 작용합니다.
에스트로겐 결합 후 수용체는 이합체화되어 DNA의 Estrogen Response Elements (ERE)에 결합하며, 전사 활성 또는 억제를 조절합니다.
ER은 두 가지 형태(alpha와 beta)를 가지며 각각 ESR1과 ESR2 유전자로부터 발현됩니다. ESR1은 다양한 스플라이싱 변형을 통해 여러 아이소폼(66, 53, 47, 35 kDa)을 형성합니다.
에스트로겐 수용체는 생식기관뿐 아니라 뼈 등 다양한 조직에 발현되며, 유방암, 자궁내막암, 골다공증 등 병리적 과정에도 관여합니다.
