Product Specific Information

MA5-15396 targets Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) in indirect ELISA, IF, IHC (P), and WB applications, showing reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human GPI expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15396 detects Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 63 kDa.

Target Information

The GPI gene encodes a multifunctional phosphoglucose isomerase involved in cellular energy metabolism.
This dimeric enzyme catalyzes the reversible isomerization of glucose-6-phosphate and fructose-6-phosphate.
Intracellularly, it functions in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; extracellularly, it acts as a neurotrophic factor for spinal and sensory neurons.
Defects in this gene can cause nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia and severe enzyme deficiency linked to hydrops fetalis, neonatal death, and neurological impairment.
