Product Specific Information
The eBioMC-813-70 monoclonal antibody reacts with a glycolipid carbohydrate epitope on Stage-specific embryonic antigen-4 (SSEA-4) protein. Expression is found on human teratocarcinoma stem cells (EC), embryonic germ cells (EG), induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and embryonic stem cells (ES), with decreased expression upon differentiation. It has also been detected on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.
This antibody cross-reacts with mouse, rabbit, canine, chicken, and Old/New World monkeys.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated using the 2102Ep cell line at 5 µL (1 µg)/test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information
SSEA-4 (Stage-specific embryonic antigen 4) is a cell surface antigen expressed on embryonic stem cells, embryonal carcinoma cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). In human cells, SSEA-4 expression decreases upon differentiation, while SSEA-1 increases. In mouse stem cells, SSEA-1 decreases and SSEA-3/SSEA-4 increase during differentiation.
