This 1H7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), also known as CD221.
IGF-1R is a cell surface glycoprotein composed of two extracellular alpha subunits and two transmembrane beta subunits with tyrosine kinase activity. It binds IGF-I, IGF-II, and insulin, activating PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways that regulate cell proliferation and survival.
Altered IGF-1R expression is often observed in tumors and transformed cells.

This antibody blocks IGF-I and IGF-II binding to IGF-1R.
Applications reported include flow cytometric analysis. Tested on HeLa cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL).
Cell number per test may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Post-manufacturing filtration: 0.2 µm.

Target Information

IGF1R (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by IGF-1 and IGF-2, implicated in various cancers.
It forms a tetramer of two alpha and two beta subunits. The alpha subunit binds IGF-1 with higher affinity than IGF-2, triggering autophosphorylation at positions 1134, 1135, and 1136.
Activated IGF-1R phosphorylates substrate proteins, sequentially activating RAS, RAF, and MAPK isoforms (ERK, p38, JNK), leading to transcription of proliferation-related genes.
