The eBioH35-17.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule.
CD8 beta associates with CD8 alpha to form the CD8α/β heterodimer, expressed on most thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic αβ T cells.
CD8 binds to MHC class I and plays a crucial role in T cell development and activation.

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating cell-cell interactions in the immune system.
It functions as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by class I MHC molecules.
The CD8 complex can be a homodimer (αα) or heterodimer (αβ), with both chains showing homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains.
This gene encodes the beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene on chromosome 2.
