Product Specific Information

The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (integrin alpha 6), also known as VLA-6 alpha chain and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kDa transmembrane protein that forms complexes with CD29 (beta 1) and CD104 (beta 4). It is expressed on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial and endothelial cells, and germinal center B cells.
This antibody is cross-reactive with human, mouse, and bovine integrin alpha 6 and can block integrin alpha 6 binding to laminin.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells (≤ 0.06 µg/test)
    • 1 test = staining of cells in 100 µL final volume
    • Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirical determination recommended)
    • Optimize antibody titration for best assay performance

Fluorophore Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited by the 488 nm blue laser. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (or 695/40 alternative). Verify instrument compatibility.

Target Information

CD49f (Integrin alpha-6, ITGA6) is an integrin alpha chain that combines with beta chains (e.g., beta 4 or beta 1) to form distinct integrins such as TSP180 and VLA-6. Integrins are cell-surface receptors mediating adhesion and signaling between the extracellular matrix (ECM) and intracellular cytoskeletal proteins.
They regulate cellular proliferation, motility, and survival through ECM and growth factor interactions. CD49f is predominantly expressed by epithelial cells and plays a structural role in hemidesmosomes.
More than 18 alpha and 8 beta subunits with various splice variants have been identified in mammals. Certain integrins also mediate cell aggregation via binding to soluble ligands or counter-receptors like ICAMs.
