Product Specific Information

The MEL-14 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD62L, a 76 kDa member of the selectin family. CD62L is expressed by neutrophils, monocytes, and subsets of T, B, and NK cells. It binds glycosylated, fucosylated, sulfated sialylated glycoproteins such as CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1, mediating lymphocyte rolling on activated endothelium and homing to high endothelial venules (HEV) of peripheral lymphoid tissues.

Applications Reported:
The MEL-14 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

Human CD62L (L-Selectin) is a 74–95 kDa glycoprotein adhesion receptor composed of:

• Aminoterminal C-type lectin binding domain
• EGF-like domain
• Two short consensus repeat (SCR) sequences
• Spacer region
• Transmembrane region
• Short cytoplasmic region

It is constitutively expressed on leukocytes including lymphocytes (except some memory T cells), monocytes, and polymorphonuclear cells.
