Target Information
The MLX gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factor family. These factors form heterodimers with Mad proteins and play roles in cellular proliferation, determination, and differentiation. MLX may diversify Mad family function through selective association with Mad1 and Mad4. Alternative splicing generates multiple isoforms.
