Target Information
The product of the MLX gene belongs to the family of basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factors. These proteins form heterodimers with Mad proteins and are involved in cellular proliferation, determination, and differentiation. MLX may diversify Mad family function by associating selectively with Mad1 and Mad4 repressors. Alternative splicing results in multiple isoforms of this gene.
