Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of Tri-Methyl-Histone H3 only when methylated at Lys27.

Target Information

H3K27me3 is an epigenetic mark where histone H3 is trimethylated at lysine residue 27. This modification is associated with transcriptional repression and is commonly found in heterochromatin regions and inactive gene promoters.
EZH2, a component of the PRC2 complex, acts as the methyltransferase responsible for H3K27 trimethylation, while UTX and JMJD3 serve as demethylases.
Regulation of H3K27me3 is essential for proper gene expression control, and its dysregulation is implicated in various diseases, including cancer.
H3K27me3 antibodies are widely used for western blot and ChIP assays to study histone modification patterns and gene regulation mechanisms.
