Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal clones for production.
Key advantages include:
- Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal-origin-free formulation
- Broad immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Protein C is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein cleaved to its activated form by the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex. Activated Protein C functions as a serine protease that degrades coagulation factors V and VIII, thus inhibiting blood coagulation.
It is produced in the liver and composed of two polypeptide chains. The 62 kDa proenzyme is activated by thrombin bound to endothelial receptors, forming a 55 kDa active enzyme. Normal plasma concentrations are approximately 1–3 ng/mL for the active enzyme and ~3 µg/mL for the proenzyme.
Mutations in the Protein C gene are associated with thrombophilia due to protein C deficiency, neonatal purpura fulminans, and recurrent venous thrombosis.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
