Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-2. Anti-Rat IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat IL-2 (500-P274) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-2.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-2 by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL concentration. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory cytokine crucial for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7. Expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mechanism. Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its essential role in immune responses.
