Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-2. Anti-Rat IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat IL-2 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat IL-2 (500-P274Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-2.
Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-2 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine essential for the proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7. Expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mechanism. Disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to an ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its crucial role in immune response to antigenic stimuli.
