Target Information
EVI1 (MECOM) is a transcriptional regulator and oncoprotein involved in hematopoiesis, apoptosis, development, cell differentiation, and proliferation. It interacts with CTBP1, SMAD3, CREBBP, KAT2B, MAPK8, and MAPK9.
Translocation of the EVI1 gene with AML1 can lead to overexpression and leukemia onset. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
