Target Information
The p95 gene (also known as NBS1 or nibrin) is a member of the hMre11/hRad50 double-strand break complex.
This complex is associated with Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased cancer susceptibility, cell cycle checkpoint defects, and ionizing radiation sensitivity.
These findings reveal a direct molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpoint regulation.
