Target Information
CHCHD3 is a component of the MICOS complex, a large protein complex located in the mitochondrial inner membrane. It plays a crucial role in maintaining crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and contact sites with the outer membrane.
Additionally, CHCHD3 functions as a transcription factor that binds to the BAG1 promoter and represses BAG1 transcription, contributing to the stability of the MICOS complex and mitochondrial cristae morphology.
