Product Specific Information
Rabbits were immunized with 6-His (HHHHHH) conjugated to KLH. The antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using the peptide immobilized on solid support.
This antibody does not detect all N-terminal 6-His tagged proteins.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly fused to recombinant proteins at either the N- or C-terminus to facilitate purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Epitope tagging allows detection of recombinant proteins lacking specific antibodies.
His-tagged proteins can be purified using Ni²⁺-NTA resin due to the strong and selective binding of histidine residues to nickel ions.
His tag-specific antibodies are widely used for detection, purification, and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
