Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with several integrins and regulates their functions. Engagement of CD47 by ligands or counter receptors modulates signaling pathways, including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins, and contributes to increased intracellular calcium concentration upon cell adhesion.
It serves as a receptor for the C-terminal domain of thrombospondin, playing roles in membrane transport and signal transduction. CD47 is broadly distributed across tissues and reduced on Rh erythrocytes.
CD47 acts as a ligand for CD172a (SIRP alpha), an immune inhibitory receptor on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells. The CD47-CD172a system also influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, and chondrocyte mechanotransduction, and supports neuronal development, being abundant in synapse-rich regions of the brain and retina.
