Assay results:
Immunoelectrophoresis showed a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum and purified GFP (Aequorea victoria).
No cross-reactivity observed with Human, Mouse, or Rat serum proteins.
Target Information
The green fluorescent protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria emits green light (508 nm) upon excitation with blue light (395 nm). GFP is widely used as a reporter for gene expression and as a fusion tag for protein localization and dynamics studies in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems. It forms a stable, autocatalytic fluorescent pigment without requiring cofactors or substrates. GFP fluorescence is species-independent and suitable for diverse applications, including FRET and yeast two-hybrid assays.
