Target Information
이 유전자는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspase의 연속적 활성화는 세포자멸사(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspase들은 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하다가 절단되어 활성 효소로 전환되며, Caspase 3는 Caspase 6, 7, 9를 활성화하고, Caspase 8, 9, 10에 의해 절단됩니다. 또한 Caspase 3는 Alzheimer’s disease와 관련된 amyloid-beta 4A precursor protein의 절단에 관여합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 두 가지 전사 변이가 생성되며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
