MA5-11472 antibody targets CDK1 and is validated for use in ICC/IF, IHC (P), IP, and WB applications. It shows reactivity with Chicken, Guinea Pig, Human, Mouse, Rodent, Rat, and Xenopus laevis samples. The immunogen used is the C-terminal two-thirds of Xenopus CDC2 expressed in E. coli.
Target Information
CDK1 (Cell Division Control protein 1) is essential for the completion of START, the controlling event in the cell cycle required to initiate mitosis. CDK1 serves as the catalytic subunit of the M-Phase Promoting Factor (MPF), a protein kinase complex that induces entry into mitosis and is conserved across eukaryotes. CDK1-mediated phosphorylation of Bcl-2 during G2/M phase arrest delays apoptosis onset. Additionally, CDK inhibitors such as NU2058 have shown therapeutic potential in androgen-independent prostate cancer.
