Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to create VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, mediating adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins bind extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and also interact with cellular receptors including VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended use ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited by a Red laser (633 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Light-sensitive tandem dye — protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET performance. Clone-specific performance should be verified empirically.

Excitation / Emission / Laser:
633–647 nm excitation; 780 nm emission; Red laser.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.


Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cells including all leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), determining binding properties of VLA integrins. Functions as a cell adhesion molecule on platelets and other cell types, binding to extracellular matrix proteins.
Decreased ITGB1 expression is associated with multidrug resistance in tumor cells. It plays a critical role in immune cell trafficking, tissue damage regulation, and inflammatory disease processes.
Two major isoforms exist — β1A (ubiquitous) and β1D (cardiac/skeletal muscle-specific).
