Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are composed of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining polyclonal sensitivity with monoclonal specificity. Each lot is produced with a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating variability found in traditional polyclonal antibody production.
Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody,” now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody.” Physical product and performance remain unchanged.

Target Information

The c-Myc protein (62 kDa) is a transcription factor encoded by the c-Myc gene on human chromosome 8q24. It is frequently activated in various tumor cells and plays critical roles in:

  • Cellular proliferation and differentiation
  • Apoptosis and cell cycle progression
  • Vasculogenesis and angiogenesis in tumor development

Phosphorylation at Thr58/Ser62 by kinases such as GSK3, CDK, ERK2, and JNK regulates c-Myc activity.
c-Myc-, N-Myc-, and L-Myc-encoded proteins are involved in neoplastic diseases. Amplification or translocation of c-Myc is observed in multiple cancers, including lung, breast, colon, and Burkitt’s lymphoma.
Antibodies against c-Myc epitopes recognize overexpressed proteins containing Myc epitope tags at either terminus of target proteins.
