• In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Cathepsin C, Cathepsin H, and Cathepsin L is observed.
• Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Target Information

Cathepsins are papain family cysteine proteinases that represent a major component of the lysosomal proteolytic system. They generally contain a signal sequence, followed by a propeptide and a catalytically active mature region.
Cathepsin F precursor has a long proregion containing a cystatin-like domain, unique within the papain family. This domain shares structural similarities with cysteine protease inhibitors of the cystatin superfamily.
CTSF encodes a 484 amino acid protein with a 19-residue signal peptide. Cathepsin F contains five potential N-glycosylation sites and may be targeted to the endosomal/lysosomal compartment via the mannose 6-phosphate receptor pathway. The gene is ubiquitously expressed and maps to chromosome 11q13, near the cathepsin W gene.
