Target Information
TSLP (Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin) is a 159 amino acid four-helix bundle hemopoietic cytokine that signals through a heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of the TSLP receptor and the IL-7R alpha-chain.
It influences myeloid cells, induces T cell-attracting chemokines from monocytes, and enhances the maturation of dendritic cells and T cells into proallergic effectors.
TSLP primes dendritic cells to produce IL-12 after CD40 ligand stimulation, regulates the selection of regulatory T cells, and maintains peripheral CD4 (+) T cell homeostasis.
It also induces allergic inflammation by activating mast cells and may play a role in inflammatory arthritis.
TSLP expression is observed in heart, liver, and prostate tissues.
