Target Information

LZTR2, also known as RGPR-p117, is a member of the BTB-kelch superfamily and functions as a nuclear factor I (NFI) binding protein and transcriptional regulator of the regucalcin gene.
LZTR2 is primarily cytoplasmic but may translocate to the nucleus via protein kinase C signaling upon hormonal stimulation.
Recent studies suggest correlations between LZTR2 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and obesity in the Japanese population, similar to associations observed with TMEM18, GNPDA2, BDNF, FAIM2, and MC4R genes in Caucasian populations, implying a potential role in metabolism and obesity risk.
