This antibody detects endogenous levels of Myt1 only when phosphorylated at Ser83.
Target Information
PKMYT1 serine/threonine kinase is a member of a family of neural-specific, zinc finger-containing DNA-binding proteins that bind to promoter regions of proteolipid proteins in the central nervous system and play a role in neural development. MYT1, along with a closely related CCHC zinc finger protein, is expressed in developing neurons. Recombinant PKMYT1 fragments containing either the upstream 2 zinc fingers or the downstream 4 zinc fingers bind the same cis-regulatory element in the PLP1 promoter in vitro, with DNA binding dependent on Zn²⁺ but not other divalent cations.
