Target Information
HFE2는 철 대사에 관여하며, hepcidin 활성화 신호 경로의 구성 요소 또는 조절자로 작용할 수 있습니다. 또한 hepcidin의 세포 수용체 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다. 이 유전자는 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체를 생성합니다. 결함은 hemochromatosis type 2A (juvenile hemochromatosis, JH)의 원인이 되며, 이는 심각한 철 과부하로 인한 조기 발병 자가열성 질환으로 30세 이전에 발생하는 경우가 많습니다.
