Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45957 was sufficient for detection of NOS1/Nnos in 7.5 µg of Mouse Brain Cerebellum by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 160.97 kDa.
Target Information
NOS (Nitric Oxide Synthase) activity requires homodimerization as well as three cosubstrates (L-arginine, NADPH, and O₂) and five cofactors or prosthetic groups (FAD, FMN, calmodulin, tetrahydrobiopterin, and heme).
Several distinct NOS isoforms have been described, representing three distinct genes:
- NOS1 (ncNOS): Neuronal form, Ca²⁺/CaM-dependent
- NOS3 (ecNOS): Endothelial form, Ca²⁺/CaM-dependent
