Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45377 was sufficient for detection of ERp57 in 15 µg of HeLa lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 57 kDa protein.
Target Information
The ERp57 gene encodes a protein localized in the endoplasmic reticulum that interacts with lectin chaperones calreticulin and calnexin to assist in the folding of newly synthesized glycoproteins. Although once considered a phospholipase, it has been shown to possess protein disulfide isomerase activity. Complexes of lectins and ERp57 facilitate proper protein folding by promoting disulfide bond formation in glycoprotein substrates.
