Target Information
PROP1 encodes a paired-like homeodomain transcription factor expressed in the developing pituitary gland. It is essential for the expression of POU domain transcription factor 1, which regulates pituitary development and hormone production.
Mutations in PROP1 are linked to combined pituitary hormone deficiency-2 and deficiencies in LH, FSH, GH, prolactin, and TSH.
