Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The TMLHE gene encodes trimethyllysine dioxygenase, the first enzyme in the carnitine biosynthesis pathway. Carnitine plays an essential role in transporting activated fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane. The encoded protein converts trimethyllysine into hydroxytrimethyllysine. A pseudogene is located on chromosome X, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
