Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
SHBG (Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin) is a steroid-binding plasma protein secreted by the liver.
It regulates steroid hormone responses by transporting androgens and estrogens in the bloodstream as dimers.
Low SHBG levels are linked to obesity, metabolic syndrome, and increased risk of type 2 diabetes.
Genetic polymorphisms in SHBG are also associated with polycystic ovary syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
