Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
SHBG (Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin) is a steroid-binding plasma protein secreted by the liver that regulates steroid hormone availability.
It binds and transports androgens and estrogens in the blood as a dimer of identical or nearly identical monomers.
Low plasma SHBG levels are associated with obesity, metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes.
Genetic polymorphisms in SHBG are linked to polycystic ovary syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
